Superior Safety
Safety is our top priority. We implement a formal accident prevention plan for every job site to promote and ensure worker safety. Our average emergency modification rate (EMR) consistently falls between .51 and .65, among the lowest in the industry. In addition to numerous safety commendations from customers, we've received the Lake County Contractors Association Award for best safety record for six consecutive years.
Continuous Training
Rapidly evolving technologies require the continual renewal of skills and expertise. Our 5,000-sq.-ft. Tech Center in Skokie regularly hosts educational programs, foremen meetings, vendor demonstrations and safety sessions to apprise employees of new and innovative methods, materials and systems. Additionally, the center provides our field force with the resources they require to test and master innovations before implementing them in the field.
Our annual trade show similarly assembles more than 750 Continental vendors, field force and office personnel, as well as inspectors, union officials and customer representatives, to showcase new products and technologies, and provide attendees with hands-on demonstrations.
New Technologies
During the past two decades, Continental has merged with and gathered the necessary expertise to design, install and maintain systems vital to all facets of building structured cabling, lighting, security, audio and video. Continental recently consolidated these services under the auspices of Continental Technologies, an enterprise dedicated to the design, installation, integration and maintenance of advanced security, audio/visual and network cabling infrastructure.
Like Continental Electric, Continental Technologies assures customers of a single source to meet all their security and communications needs, from design and construction to maintenance and repair. Customers also can rest assured that all systems and services are in strict adherence to industry standards, local codes and worker safety.

Maintenance
Our Special Projects Division's (SPD) Maintenance Value Program (MVP) provides a comprehensive range of electrical services and single-source solution for electrical maintenance requirements. Program components include arc fault surveys, power quality testing, thermal scanning diagnostics, structured cabling and specialty lighting. We also perform switchgear and equipment maintenance and repair 24/7.
